A well-dressed robber allegedly held up a Hamden clothing store Thursday night at gunpoint.
At about 7 p.m. Thursday evening Hamden Police got a report of an armed robbery at Casual Male XL at 1869 Dixwell Ave., according to Sgt. Anthony Diaz.
The suspect, described as a black male, 40-50 years old, wearing a black suit
and white shirt, knit cap, and glasses, robbed the store clerk and the suspect was armed with a black hand gun, Diaz said.
"The individual demanded cash from the register, which the store clerk handed to him, Diaz said in a release. "The individual then ordered the clerk and an associate into a rear storage room...[and] then ran to his vehicle, which was parked in the Price Rite parking lot and then fled onto Dixwell Avenue."
The Major Crimes Unit is investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact Detective William Onofrio at 203-230-4040.
