Police: Man Tried to Fill Fake Oxycodone Prescription

A New Haven man is facing charges that he forged a prescription for Oxycodone and tried to get it filled at a Hamden pharmacy.

On Thursday police received a report of an attempt to pass a fraudulent prescription at CVS at 2045 Dixwell Avenue, according to Hamden Police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.

Officers learned that Frederick Holloway, 59, of 114 Osborn Ave., New Haven, tried to fill the fake prescription for 90 Oxycodone pills, Smith said.

Holloway was charged with illegally obtaining a prescription and third-degree forgery. Holloway was released after posting $5,000.00 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Feb. 6.

The Street Interdiction Team conducted the investigation, Smith said.
