Police: Man Tried to Steal Items from Bob's

A man wanted on several warrants alleging sixth-degree larceny was arrested Thursday when he allegedly tried to shoplift items from Bob's Stores, according to police.

 

An alleged shoplifter was arrested Thursday evening after he allegedly tried to take items from Bob's Stores in the Hamden Plaza.

The man, identified as Matt Wolosko, 35, whose address wasn't available, was seen by security taking tags off of items and trying to conceal them under his clothes, according to Hamden Police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.

"According to store security, when Wolosko was confronted, he began to wrestle with a security officer," Smith said in a release on the incident..

Wolosko was charged with third-degree robbery and sixth-degree larceny. He was held in lieu of $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on April 11.

Police also found that Wolosko was wanted on four additional warrants stemming from incidents in Old Saybrook, Madison and with the Connecticut State Police in Westbrook, Smith said.

According to the Connecticut Judicial Website, Wolosko was arrested three times in Old Saybrook on larceny charges and on charges of violation of probation and failure to appear in court.

Officer Justin Martin conducted the investigation, Smith said.
