Police Search for Two Involved in Home Invasion

A Morse Street resident woke up shortly after 4 a.m. to find two men in his basement, according to police.

Police are looking for two men who broke into a Morse Street home early in the morning of July 6 while the homeowner was sleeping, according to police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.

On July 6 at about 4:15a.m. Hamden Police responded to 284 Morse Street on the report of a home invasion, Smith said.

"Investigation revealed that as the homeowner was asleep in his bedroom, he heard a noise in the basement," Smith said in a statement Monday. "Upon checking the basement, he was confronted by two individuals, who were hiding near a stairway. The individuals, who are described as a black male, 5’5” and a white male male, 5’5” tall, fled through a basement door."

Officer John Battick and his K-9 partner “Cesar” conducted a track, which met with negative results, Smith said..

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hamden Police Department Detective Division at (203) 230-4040.
