Quinnipiac Student Charged in Incident with University Safety Officer
The Cheshire resident is facing threatening and breach of peace charges, according to police.
A Cheshire resident who is a student at Quinnipiac University in Hamden was arrested early Saturday morning after he threatened a staff member and assaulted a university Public Safety Officer, according to police.
Justin A. Mendonca, 21, of 65 Wyndemere Court, Cheshire, was charged with threatening and second-degree breach of peace. after the 1 a.m. incident, according to Hamden Sgt. Anthony Diaz.
Hamden Police responded to Quinnipiac on a reported intoxicated student, Diaz said.

"Officers working an extra-duty assignment on campus were notified that a Quinnipiac student was intoxicated and making threats to a staff member. Further investigation revealed that the student had threatened a staff member and assaulted a Quinnipiac University Public Safety Officer," Diaz said in a release Tuesday.
The officer suffered a minor injury that didn't require medical attention, Diaz said.

Mendonca posted a $1,000 dollar non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Nov.1, Diaz said.
