A Quinnipiac University student from Massachusetts is facing assault charges for allegedly breaking the nose of another student Saturday.
Alexander Orr, 19, of Lincoln, Massachusetts was charged with third-degree assault and breach of peace after Hamden Police responded to Quinnipiac University Health Services on the report of an assault at about 4 a.m. Saturday morning, according to police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.
"Upon arrival, officers observed an 18 year-old university student bleeding profusely from the head," Smith said in a release Monday. "Investigation revealed that the student became engaged in a verbal altercation with another student, who was later identified as Alexander Orr. The altercation became physical, when Orr alleged punched the victim in the head."
The victim was taken to the hospital, where it was determined that he had three bones in his nose broken, Smith said.
Orr was released after posting a $2,500 bond, Smith said, and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Sept. 13.
Officer Matthew Barbuto conducted the investigation, Smith said.
