Two Hamden men, both convicted sex offenders, have been charged with failing to verify their addresses with the state.
A Brooksvale Avenue man and convicted sex offender was arrested on a warrant Thursday for failing to update his address with the state, according to Hamden Police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.
"On Dec. 4, 2013, Hamden Police was notified by the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection Sex Offender Registry Unit that registered sex offender Scott Quirion, 38, of 160 Brooksvale Avenue, Hamden, had not been in compliance with the sex offender unit," Smith said in a release.
Quirion had failed to verify his address, Smith said.
"Sergeant Colin Kearns conducted an investigation, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for Quirion," Smith said.
On January 16th Quirion turned himself in to police custody, Smith said. He was charged with Failure of a Convicted Sex Offender to Verify Address. He is scheduled to appear in court in Meriden on Jan. 30, Smith said.
Also charged Thursday was Brendon Staggers, 24, of 96 Grandview Ave., Hamden, with Failure of a Convicted Sex Offender to Verify Address. He is scheduled to appear in court in Meriden on Jan, 27.
