‘Shocking’ Graffiti Targets Police; Red Bull Theft Thwarted; and More

When crime is weird, wild or just plain ridiculous, you’ll find it in OMG PD.

HAMDEN – “Shoot All Cops In The Head” — that’s what a New Haven man allegedly wrote on a Circular Avenue building Thursday afternoon. Police said they received a call from someone who reportedly witnessed the act and then helped chase the suspect down for police.

According to police, the 31-year-old suspect said he “wanted to write something shocking.” He was charged with third-degree criminal mischief.

NORTH BRANFORD – A 23-year-old Ansonia man and two of his friends led police on a pursuit after allegedly attempting to steal cases of Red Bull from Big Y.

The suspect fled the store with loss prevention officers chasing him. Police then joined the foot pursuit, during which the cases of Red Bull were reportedly ditched. The suspect hopped in a car and took off, but was pulled over shortly after by a Branford police officer.

The Ansonia man and two other males were arrested on larceny charges, according to this North Branford Patch article.
BRANFORD – When it was time to the pay the bill, a 23-year-old woman reportedly got up and ran out of the restaurant.

Police said restaurant employees attempted to stop the woman, but she ran off. Police caught up with her a short distance later an arrested her on a charge of sixth-degree larceny.

The bill, at Mango’s Bar & Grille, was $32. The suspect has a criminal record that involves larceny, Branford Patch reports.
STRATFORD – A Peace Street resident was charged with creating a public disturbance.

Police said the man was pumping his tunes too high while parked near the Stratford seawall on Beach Drive after midnight on July 23, and reportedly refused to turn it down when told to do so by an officer.

A Peace Street resident was disturbing the peace. Now that is funny. Reminds me of the time a Lover's Lane resident was charged for hate crimes.
