Three Nabbed Tuesday on Drug Charges

Two of those arrested are Quinnipiac University students who allegedly had pot and magic mushrooms in their dorm room.

Two Quinnipiac University students were arrested Tuesday after allegedly found with a large amount of marijuana.

At about 5:30 p.m. Lt. Tim Wydra responded to Quinnipiac University on a drug investigation, Capt. Ronald Smith said.

There, in the dorm room of the two students - Christopher Folsom and Adrian Miles, both 19 - Wydra found 42 grams of marijuana, Smith said, as well as magic mushrooms, a hallucinogenic.

Both Folsom, of 275 Mt. Carmel Ave., and Miles, of New Buryport, Mass., were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of marijuana, possession of an hallucinogenic and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both posted $10,000 bond and are scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court March 15.

Later Tuesday police stopped a man on Goodrich Street and found he had 51 bags of crack cocaine and cash on him, Smith said.

At about 8:30 p.m. Off. William May an individual driving on Goodrich Street without wearing a seat belt, Smith said. 

May pulled the car over and found that the driver, Jeremy Morton, 25, of Sherman Avenue, New Haven, had on him the 51 bags of crack, weighing 11.5 grams, as well as $270 in cash, Smith said. 

"Officers seized the narcotics, currency and vehicle that Morton was operating," Smith said. 

Morton was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, operating under suspension and failure to a wear seat belt.

Morton, who is on parole, was held in lieu of $60,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court March 15.
