Trumbull Woman Charged for Milford Hit-and-Run Death; Weed Whack Attack; Another Car Versus Building in North Haven

When crime is weird, wacky or just plain ridiculous, you'll find it in OMG PD.

MILFORD - A Trumbull woman was arrested this week in connection to the hit-and-run death of Kevin Berhance in Milford last October. Police allege that Vicky Kloc, 49, was driving under the influence the night of the accident. Berhance, 44, a father of nine from Kansas City, Kansas died two days after the incident from injuries sustained in the crash. Kloc, who was initially charged with DWI and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, has now been booked on manslaughter with a motor vehicle in the second degree.

ORANGE - A dispute between two landscapers turned ugly this Tuesday when Ramiro Avila, 54, of New Haven attacked a co-worker with a weed whacker. The victim sustained head injuries from the power tool, and was transferred to Milford Hospital for treatment. Avila has been charged with second degree assault.

NORTH HAVEN - The latest in a spate of car vs. building accidents in town, Tuesday saw Annette Taylor, 75, of Northford crash into the doors of Liberty Dialysis Center on Washington Avenue after mistaking her vehicle's gas pedal for the brakes. No one was injured, but Taylor was nevertheless charged with reckless driving. Liberty Dialysis, while sustaining some damage in the incident, was opened for business within hours of the accident.
