Two Men Arrested On Gun Charges

Officers find illegal guns in car seen in area where armed robbery took place moments before.

Two Hamden men were arrested Tuesday on weapons charges shortly after an armed robbery at local convenience store.

Police received a report of an armed robbery at Krauzers, 56 Fairview Ave., about 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.

Officer Bryan Kelly responded to the robbery, Smith said, and after arriving at the store, noticed a car speeding away on Woodin Street with its headlights off. Officers followed the car to 1160 Dixwell Ave., Smith said, and two men went into a building there.
