Two Teens Arrested After Fight at Football Game

The fight started in the stands at the Hamden High School football game Friday night and continued in the Hamden Plaza parking lot, according to police.

Two teenagers were arrested Friday night when a fight broke out in the stands at a Hamden High School football game, according to police.

At about 9 p.m. police responded to the school on the report of a fight in the stands during the game, according to police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.

When officers arrived, they saw several people fighting the the upper level of the stands, Smith said, and immediately about 60 people took off when they saw police.

Sgt. Anthony Diaz arrested one person, identified as Kirtan Lockett, 18, of 280 Circular Ave., who was involved in the fight, Smith said.

Moments later police got a report of another fight at the Hamden Plaza, Smith said, where about 15 people were fighting. They took took off as police arrived, Smith said, and one person, identified as a 17-year-old New Haven man, pushed an officer.

The teen also took off, but police were able to catch up with him and arrest him in the parking lot across the street from the Plaza, Smith said. He was charged with interfering with a police officer and has an Oct. 11 court date.

Lockett was charged with second-degree breach of peace. He posted $500 bond and is due to appear in Meriden Superior Court Oct. 14.
