NeighborWorks New Horizons and the town of Hamden Office of Economic and Community Development will hold an open house and barbeque today from 12 to 3 p.m. at Highwood Square at 953 Dixwell Ave. across from the M.L. Keefe Center to feature the newly constructed commercial spaces at Highwood Square.
Highwood Square, which opened in 2009, is a mixed-use, artist house development with commercial space. To date 27 housing units or 100 percent occupancy have been filled with a waiting list for residency.
Additionally, a financial services business has relocated to the development as well as a dental practice. Numerous artists live in apartments and/or produce art work in studio space at Highwood Square. Their work as well as additional space offered by Colonial Properties will be featured at the event.
