Campaign Notebook: Linda McMahon 2.0

News and updates from the campaign trail in Connecticut.

Senate

Chris Murphy (D): Murphy has gained $16,000 since earlier this week, bringing his campaign fund total to $5.59 million, reports the New Haven Register. Democratic rival Susan Bysiewicz currently has $2.4 million.

Linda McMahon (R): Politico reports that McMahon has improved since her last campaign and is now "Linda 2.0". They say that this makeover has left the candidate more "toned down."

Third District

Rosa DeLauro (D): DeLauro has co-sponsored a new bill introduced by Congressman Edward Markey, reports PharmaTimes. The Trial and Experimental Studies Transparency Act of 2012 aims to have all eligible clinical studies results posted on ClinicalTrials.gov within a year.

Wayne Winsley (R): Winsley held an open candidate's forum on Thursday at the East Haven Senior Center.

Fourth District

Jim Himes (D): Congressman Himes has continued his 17 Towns in 17 Days, reports the Easton Courier. He will visit every town in the fourth district, including Weston, Redding, and Easton on Friday.

Steve Obsitnik (R): Obsitnik posted on his Facebook page about receiving an endorsement from business owners Allen and Sylina Levy.

Fifth District

Dan Roberti (D): Roberti told WFSB-TV that he would need more information about rival Chris Donovan's campaign investigation in order to support him if Donovan were to win the Democratic primary, reports Real Clear Politics

Justin Bernier (R): The Register Citizen reports that Bernier believes the fifth district Republicans' pro-life stance needs to be stronger, like it was in the 2010 election. His new television ad reflects his stance on the issue.
