Chicken of the Sea Tuna Recalled

First it was Bumble Bee Tuna.

Bumble Bee and Brunswick Tuna Recalled

Now Chicken of the Sea has announced a major recall. Affected are 5-ounce chunk white albacore tuna in water and 5-ounce chunk light tuna in oil.

Just like the Bumble Bee recall, the cans are not properly sealed, leading to the possibility of spoilage. No illnesses have been reported. The tuna was distributed nationwide.

"The health and safety of our consumers is paramount. As soon as we discovered the issue, we took immediate steps to issue this voluntary recall by alerting our customers who received the product and by asking them to remove it from store shelves," said Shue Wing Chan, President of Tri-Union Seafoods.

The UPC code is found on the label of the product. The Best By date is printed on the bottom of the can.
