Former Hamden Mayor Craig Henrici to Head State Agency

Appointment by Governor Malloy catches advocates by surprise.

Former Hamden Mayor Craig Henrici was recently appointed as the executive director of the Office of Protection and Advocacy for Persons With Disabilities by Gov. Dannel P. Malloy.

The move occurred so quietly that the agency's staff thought Henrici was joking when he showed up for work, according to ctnewsjunkie.com.

The administration didn't issue a press release to mark Henrici's appointment, which Malloy spokesman Andrew Doba told ctnewsjunkie.com is not unusual.

Political opponents of Malloy, however, questioned the process that led to Henrici's appointment.
