Why are there four Democrats running unopposed in this year’s Senate and House election? Could the reason be that some Hamden Republicans have Election Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (EPTSD) due to losing past elections. If this is the case, I do not believe that anyone can point his or her finger at Hamden’s Republican Party Chairman Ron Gambardella for these unopposed positions this year. As we, all know Election PTSD is difficult to overcome; it takes time, education and support to lessen the effects of Election PTSD. Mr. Gambardella and the Hamden Republican Party are putting in the necessary time to educate and support Republicans who have Election PTSD in Hamden. By next year, Republican Election PTSD will be so small as to be meaningless and insignificant, that Republican candidates will be knocking on everyone’s doors once more.

Hi Tom, I could not have stated it better. You are correct, we are in the process of rebuilding and are currently organizing around the 2013 local elections.

October 18, 2012: We have driven by 3030 Whitney Ave several times in the past two weeks looking for the Democratic Party headquarters in order to pick up signs. It's no doubt us, myopic or something, but shouldn't there be some kind of vivid advertising for the Democrats? I see LINDA signs everywhere and very few Chris Murphy, who we support. Also, in attempts to call the Dems office, I am requested by auto-answer to dial the numeral 1. I live down the street, guys. I dial using the 1 and get a cold auto-answer. I would have been happy to man the phones, give out posters, whatever. When I "accidentally" called the Republican headquarters on Washington Ave, someone very quickly and pleasantly answered the phone. Are we so complacent in this town that Dems will win that we lose one of our Senate seats? I'm appalled.
