From the Hamden Democratic Town Committee:
The Hamden Democratic Town Committee is hosting a grand opening Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. for the 2013 Democratic Headquarters, located at 2600 Dixwell Ave., in the former Quinnipiac Bank offices across from the Hamden Middle School.
Members of the public are invited to attend this free event and meet with Mayor Scott Jackson, Town Clerk Vera Morrison and many of the Legislative Council and Board of Education candidates running for office this fall. Pizza and cold beverages will be served. Children are welcome and invited.
In addition, there will be a fundraiser to benefit Mayor Scott Jackson's reelection campaign Tuesday, Oct. 1 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at DeMil's on Whitney, 4137 Whitney Ave., hosted by the Jackson for Hamden Committee.
There is a $50 suggested donation and samples of DeMil's menu will be served. For more information, visit the event Facebook page or contact Party Chairman Lew Panzo at 203-996-6163.
“The Democratic Slate of candidates this year, led by our Mayor Scott Jackson, is the strongest field of candidates that I have seen in over 30 years in Hamden elections. We have an excellent blend of experienced legislators and new, fresh candidates that will be a great asset to the town,” said Panzo. “We invite you to come meet the candidates and consider volunteering to help the Democratic Team be successful this fall.”
People interested in volunteering for the Hamden Democratic Town Committee can contact Holly Masi at email@example.com or by calling 203-745-7242.
“Volunteer efforts come in all shapes and sizes – there’s something for everyone interested, whether it be for the whole campaign or as little as one hour," Panzo said. “Every bit it is greatly appreciated.”
