Hamden Hosts Let’s Move Family Wellness Fair

The Wellness Fair will offer resources, interactive demonstrations, and areas of activities representing more than 40 organizations and vendors

The first annual Let’s Move Family Wellness Fair will be held Saturday, Feb. 1 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Dunbar Hill Elementary School. In conjunction with the Let’s Move, Cities, Towns and Counties initiative, the event offers a fun and healthy morning of activities, healthy treats and wellness opportunities.

The Wellness Fair will offer resources, interactive demonstrations, and areas of activities representing more than 40 organizations and vendors. Some of the demonstrations include kickboxing, zumba and Stuffee from the CT Science Center. Organizations and businesses include TAD-G’s Fitness, Quinnipiac University Nutrition class, Student/Athletes and Occupational Therapy class, Rite Aid, Thyme and Season Natural Food Market, Monarch Therapeutic Services and so much more. All tables will offer a free activity or giveaway.

Hamden Youth Services Bureau, Hamden’s Partnership for Young Children, Hamden Public Schools, the Town of Hamden Office of the Mayor and Quinnipiack Valley Health District are teaming up to offer the Let’s Move Family Wellness Fair free of charge to the community. The focus is on healthy living and will include activities and information on nutrition, physical activity, safety, healthy practices and resources.

If there is inclement weather, the event will take place on Saturday, Feb. 8 at the same time and same place. Check the town of Hamden website for cancellations.
