Hamden Public Library Has Remedy for 'Cabin Fever'

Cabin Fever Readers will reward participants for their reading and offer in-library and online activities to that provide opportunities to interact with other readers and stimulate further reading.



This month the Hamden Public Library will conducting its first annual season-long reading program for adults.

Similar to its summer counterpart for children, the Cabin Fever Readers will reward participants for their reading and offer in-library and online activities to that provide opportunities to interact with other readers and stimulate further reading.  

In conjunction with the program, a series of Films for Booklovers begins on Tuesday, January 14. The movies will be shown each week at 2 p.m. in the Friends Room on the lower level of Miller Library, 2901 Dixwell Ave. 

All Cabin Fever Readers participants who have completed reading at least one book during the previous week will be eligible for a raffle drawing at the conclusion of of the film.  On Thursdays,  participants are invited to attend a rotating group of programs, including drop-in book discussions, adult craft activities and a monthly Tech Toy Time to be held in the Friends' Room at 2 p.m.  beginning January 16.  

The Cabin Fever Reader's program will culminate in March with a Grand Finale, which will include a raffle drawing for gifts provided by the Friends of the Hamden Library, Connecticut Arts for Learning, Connecticut In-Home Assistance, Express Care/Urgent Care and Le Petit Gourmet.

Hamden Library patrons ages 16 and up are encouraged to sign-up for this 10-week program at any of the library's three branches or online through the library's webpage at www.hamdenlibrary.org.
