Hamden to Honor Martin Luther King

The Jan. 18 event will be held in the Thornton Wilder Hall at Miller Memorial Library.

 

The town of Hamden will hold its annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day celebration on Friday from 12 to 1:30 p.m. in the Thornton Wilder Hall, Miller Library Complex.  

This event offers attendees the opportunity to reflect on Dr. King’s life and his mission, and how Dr. King has affected people's lives.  Members of the public are invited to attend and light refreshments will be served.

Jackson will welcome guests to the celebration, and the moderator for the event is Rev. Sallie Lowry of the Arts, Recreation & Culture Department. The keynote speaker will be Joseph DiBacco, Principal of Shepherd Glen School.

Students from Hamden Schools will present musical selections. The event is free and open to the public.
