Maturo: East Haven Winter Storm Parking Ban In Effect This Weekend

With the blizzard of Nemo approaching, East Haven Mayor Joseph Maturo Jr is asking residents to remove their vehicles from the town's roadways by early tomorrow morning into Monday.

The following is a press release from the East Haven Mayor's Office.

Please note that Mayor Maturo reminds residents that with the approaching storm, in order to allow the town's Public Service Department to property treat and clear the roads:

All motor vehicles owner's should take vehicles off the road where ever possible and must adhere to the town's winter storm parking ban, especially from Friday morning at 6 a.m. until Monday morning.

Depending on the timing of the storm and the length of time needed for clean-up this period could be adjusted accordingly.

As for the snow mobiles and quads why is it CT does not have any public trails these people can use instead they must break the law in CT unless they are lucky and know a land owner who has the room and gives them written permission to ride on their property NY has posted trails and roads but insurance and such is required as should be

Connecticut is one of America's most densely polulated states. "These people" as you politely refer them to, ought to realize they live in an URBAN environment. Snowmobiles and Quads are made for use in RURAL and remote WOODED areas (as is found in much of upstate New York). Laws are in place locally which severely limit or flatout prohibit their use here in Southern Connecticut. Lack of public trails locally is because of the extreme destructive nature of these machines, especially the quads. Ecosystems are destroyed as idiots get their yaya's out running around on these things. It is only a matter of time before one of these imbeciles is killed in our town.

I own a quad and drive around the roads durring snow storms. It causes no property damage nor does impede traffic because the roads are empty. It's quite relaxing.

Don't come crying to me when you break your neck and cripple yourself from the forehead down.
