What he says:

As many know, earlier this year Peter Villano announced that he would not be seeking re-election to the 91st state assembly seat in which he has served for the past twenty years. All Hamden residents owe a debt of thanks and gratitude to Peter Villano. For the past several decades, he has dedicated himself to improving the lives of all Hamden residents, from students to seniors. All public servants should aspire to his standard.

I have also been fortunate to have served Hamden in various capacities -- from the Farmington Canal Commission, to the Police Commission, to my election to the Board of Education in 1999, where I have served as chairperson for the last seven years. Having seen firsthand how the laws passed in Hartford impact the lives of every Hamden resident, I now hope to use my experience serving the people of Hamden to influence the legislative process directly.

As your candidate for Hamden’s 91st State Representative seat, our campaign has received overwhelming support throughout Hamden, both within and outside of the 91st District. I am grateful for that support. We have succeeded in this race because our campaign’s values appeal across boundaries both political and geographic.

We all support first class, cost-efficient public schools and libraries, reliable care of our seniors, responsible budgeting and fiscal responsibility, vibrant arts and recreational programming, and responsive public safety. These issues concern us all – whether Republican or Democrat – from Whitneyville to West Woods.

Because I believe in those values, because I believe that our commitment to them strengthens and binds our community, I am running to represent Hamden at the Legislature, and hope to continue the exemplary example set by Peter Villano.  I hope you will join me in that effort and that we will see you at the polls on Nov. 6th.
