Special Events Planned for Hamden Farmer's Market

Tomorrow the market will be open until 7 p.m., and there's lots more going on in the next few weeks.

The Hamden Farmer's Market continues to grow this year, with extended hours again on Friday and a special market planned for next month to mark the end of the season.

On Friday, the market will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., four hours longer than its normal 3 p.m. closing, in order to accommodate those unable to come during the day. It's the second time this year that the market's hours have been extended.

In addition to fruits and vegetables, food trucks will be on site including the Cupcake Truck, stuffed potatoes and fried dough pizza.

More is planned for each week until the market closes for the season Oct. 18. The schedule includes:

Oct. 4: Movie series finale! Come see Academy Award Nominee Lincoln on our big screen. Special start time of 7 pm.

October 11: Touch a truck returns! During our Market, bring the little ones between 11-3 to see police, fire and public works vehicles up close, check out Josh's Jungle and stay for lunch. A perfect activity for pre-schoolers.

October 18: Fall Food Truck Festival! Thirteen trucks confirmed, and more to be announced. Join us from 4:30-8, and be sure to bring stuff home for the weekend.
