Bob's Furniture Shares the Wealth with Church Street School

School budgets have been especially hard hit over the last several years as the economy remains volatile.  But, thanks to the generosity of Bob’s Discount Furniture and its patrons, seven Connecticut schools, including, Church Street School in Hamden, will have a little extra money to put toward their respective arts and education programs.

Church Street School received $1,000 as part of Bob’s Outreach Program, which began nearly 20 years ago.

Cathy Poulin, Bob's Discount Furniture's Public Relations/Outreach Director, visited faculty and students at Hamden's Church Street School on Feb. 28 to present a $1,000 donation.

Every month, Bob's randomly selects seven schools in the communities near its stores and grants a $1,000 donation. This donation is made possible through money collected in donation jars, which are located in each Bob’s store cafe.

While visiting Bob's, patrons are encouraged to visit the store café to enjoy complimentary gourmet coffee, ice cream, fresh baked cookies and candy, and they can also make a donation to support their local schools.
