Church Street School Student Council & Fourth Graders Make a Difference

They recently organized a Holiday Food Drive that brought in more than 700 cans, toiletries, and boxed food items. Now bad for a bunch of kids!

The Church Street School Student Council and Miss Warren’s 4th Grade Class recently organized a Holiday Food Drive to support the local Hamden community.

They hosted a school-wide Pajama Day and students brought in a canned good to participate. The school collected more than 700 cans, toiletries, and boxed food items.

The students came up with the idea for this amazing project in November and worked hard to organize the food in time for the December holiday.

The proceeds were donated to the Keefe Center’s Food Bank, St. Anne’s Soup Kitchen, and the remaining items where shelved at Church Street School for needy families.
