Dunbar Hill Gets New Principal

Dunbar Hill School students will have a new face behind the principal's desk come fall, and she's here to stay.

The school has had an interim principal this year, but as of July 1 Erin Bailey will become the school's new principal.

The Board of Education approved Bailey's appointment Tuesday night.

"Erin is an outstanding educator," said Supt. of Schools Fran Rabinowitz. "She is a Hamden resident and teacher and she has excellent leadership skills."

Currently she is the District Data Facilitator for Hamden Schools and began her career in Hamden as a teacher. Except for a short time she spent as a consultant for Education Connection in Litchfield, she has spent her career in Hamden.

"I'm absolutely thrilled," Bailey said of her new job. "I've lived and worked in Hamden my entire life and I'm looking forward to continuing that."

Bailey began her career teaching at Helen Street School and then later at West Woods School. She became the district's Data Facilitator last year.

She is married and has three children, all students in Hamden Public Schools.

"We are thrilled to have her here," Rabinowitz said.
