Sophomores at Sacred Heart Academy recently shared their high school experience with their grandparents at the school's fifth annual Grandparents’ Day.
Sponsored by the Office of Mission Advancement, the students invited their grandparents to campus for the morning. Together they enjoyed a continental breakfast, songs from the upcoming musical, Annie, and presentations by President Sr. Sheila O’Neill, ASCJ, and the World Language Department, and a prayer service in the Chapel.Sophomores were also available to take their grandparents on private tours.
More than 100 grandparents and attended this special day on the Sacred Heart calendar.
Grandparents and sophomores alike enjoyed the preview of Annie and the time in Chapel was especially meaningful as each part of the service honored the bond between granddaughters and grandparents.
"My grandparents loved the day, and got such a warm feeling from everyone they met and I love that I get to share my appreciation and love of this school with the people who matter most to me—my grandparents," said sophomore Francesca Campanelli.
And from her grandparents Frank and Marie O'Neill, "We love the camaraderie and atmosphere of Sacred Heart — we felt as though we were at home the minute we walked in."
