Hamden Elks Lodge Scholarship Awardees Honored

The Elks gave out a number of scholarships to area students, including several from Hamden High School, Sacred Heart Academy and Hamden Hall Country Day School.

Hamden Lodge 2224 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, serving Hamden and North Haven recently honored the 2012 recipients of their Annual Lodge Scholarship in honor of Edward J. Connolly.

They were each presented with a $500 Scholarship Award at the Lodge Youth Activities Banquet held in observation of Elks National Youth week.

Shown are: Kristen Perkins who attended Hamden High School; Amanda Maturo who attended Sacred Heart Academy; Amanda Jean Wagner who attended Hamden High School; Allison Palmieri who attended Southington High School; Kaitlin Qun Hui King who attended Hamden Hall Country Day School and Jarrett K. Rennie who attended Daniel Hand High School in Madison.

These six recent high school graduates are the children, grandchildren or legal wards of a current member in good standing of the Hamden Elks Lodge.

This scholarship is in addition to Elks National Foundation scholarships being offered to high school seniors through the Hamden Elks and other Lodges around the country.
