Hamden Hall Basketball Clinic: Hoops with the Hornets!

Hamden Hall offering free basketball clinic taught by coaches and players that is open the the public.

 

Hamden Hall Country Day School varsity basketball coaches and players from both the boys’ and girls’ teams will be instructing youngsters on the fundamentals of the game during a basketball clinic Jan. 22.

Young hoopsters will be coached in passing, dribbling, shooting and defensive skills at stations manned by members of the two varsity basketball teams. Fun contests and scrimmages are also planned for the event, which will accommodate two age groups: 8-12 year olds and 13-14 year olds.

“I’m looking forward to working with young basketball enthusiasts from the greater New Haven community who want to learn some of the basics of the game and improve their skills,” said Hamden Hall Varsity Basketball Coach Keith Kaliszewski.

“Hoops with the Hornets!” will take place Sunday, Jan. 22, at the Beckerman Athletic Center, 225 Skiff St. Children ages 8-12 should attend the first session from 9-10:30 a.m. A second session, from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., is for 13-14 year olds.

This is a free program that is open to the public, although reservations are required. Call 203-752-2610 to reserve space for your child.

The Hamden Hall boys’ varsity basketball team is being touted this season as possibly the best in the school’s history. All five starters and seven of the top nine players return from a 25-4 squad last year and both a Fairchester League and NEPSAC Class C championship.
