Hamden High Asst. Principal to take Job in Middletown

Melissa Barbuto, now assistant principal at Hamden High School, to become principal at Wesley Elementary School in Middletown.

 

The Middletown education board has approved the hiring of a Hamden High School assistant principals for the principal's position at Wesley Elementary School.

“The Middletown Public Schools is very pleased to announce Melissa Barbuto as the new principal of The Lawrence Elementary School,” said Dr. Gene Nocera, Board of Education chairman in a press release.

Barbuto is negotiating with the Hamden school district when she will leave to start her new position in Middletown.

She came highly recommended by her sending districts and from the Middletown Principal Search Committee, Nocera says.

Barbuto has been the assistant principal of Hamden High School since 2010.  Before that, she taught kindergarten, and grades one and four from 2002 to 2010.
