Hamden Middle School Presents "Once On This Island"

Tickets available for musical tale of love, loss and redemption May 17-19.

 

Hamden Middle School’s Stage One will present the musical, Once On This Island, on May 17, 18, and 19 at 7:30 p.m..

Once on This Island is a captivating musical tale of love, loss and redemption performed by a group of island peasants as they wait out a violent storm.

The legend they tell is of Ti Moune, a peasant girl who rescues and falls in love with Daniel, a wealthy boy from the other side of the island. When he is returned to his people, she leaves her village to find him, sent on a journey by the gods to test the ultimate strength of love.

Written by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, Once on the Island is directed by Tim Brown and features Hamden Middle School students Aaron Garner, Alex Blair, Amelia Lewis, Amelia Matthews, Amy Nicefaro, Anna Kruger-Dull, Cheyenne Timberlake, Eilee Dingus, Emilie Valentine, Heather Tucker, Isiah Bostic, Jasmine Brownell, Jenna Quiroz, Kayla Johnson, Kristina Pellegrino, Maia Dingus, Maire Whelan, Mia Laguna, Miguel Corzo, Nickolas Linn, Olivia Dowgiewicz, Olivia Harris, Rachel Baumann, Raymond Looney, Reilly Carini, Richard Williams, Sara Courtemanche, Taj Chardon, Tazje Henry–Phillip, Tyler Genece and Zoey Day.

Tickets are $5 for students and seniors and $7.50 for adults, and may be reserved by calling 203-407-3140.

But Kudos to the teachers who put their students above their own financial situation. The Town and parents should be footing the costs, not the teachers.
