Hamden Residents Named to College Dean's List

Marking the accomplishments of Hamden residents attending area colleges and universities.

 

Nicholas Castaldi of Hamden has earned Highest Honors for the fall semester of the 2012-2013 academic year at the University of New Hampshire.

Students named to the Dean's List at the University of New Hampshire have earned recognition through their superior scholastic performance. Highest Honors are awarded to students who earn a semester grade point average of 3.85 or better out of a possible 4.0. Students with a 3.65 to 3.84 average are awarded high honors and students whose grade point average is 3.5 through 3.64 are awarded honors.

The following Hamden residents were named to the Fall 2012 Dean's List at Saint Michael's College, a liberal arts, residential Catholic college located in Burlington, Vermont:

Rebecca Blackdaughter of Joel Black of Hamden, a Senior English major, who graduated from Hamden High School before coming to Saint Michael's.

Cara Deroydaughter of Gary and Patricia Deroy of Hamden, a Junior Psychology major, who graduated from Hamden High School before coming to Saint Michael's.

Students who complete a minimum of 12 credits and achieve a grade point average of at least 3.4 at the end of a semester are recognized for their scholarship by inclusion on the Dean's List.

 Dr. Bashar Hanna, Delaware Valley College's vice president for academic affairs and dean of the faculty, announced that Celina Burgue¤o of Hamden, CT, has been honored for academic achievement by being named to the fall 2012 Dean's List.

Delaware Valley College is an independent, multi-disciplinary college with more than 1000 acres of college land between its properties in Bucks and Montgomery Counties.

The following local residents are among those to be named to the Roger Williams University Dean's List for the Fall 2012 semester:

  • Hamden, CT resident Elizabeth Remy, majoring in Art and Architectural History

Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits per semester and earn a GPA of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean's List that semester.

Davante Mallard of Hamden has been named to the Fall 2012 Dean's List at American International College in Springfield, Mass. Mallard was one of more than 400 AIC students recognized for their academic achievements.

Mallard is a Freshman majoring in Sport & Recreation Management.

Dean's List students are full-time students, with a grade point average between 3.3 and 4.0 for the semester.

Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, Conn., has announced the Dean's List for the fall semester 2012. To receive this honor, a student must achieve a 3.6 grade average, based on a 4.0 scale. The following students made the fall 2012 Dean's List:

But Kudos to the teachers who put their students above their own financial situation. The Town and parents should be footing the costs, not the teachers.
