Hamden Student Accomplishments

Berklee College of Music announces that Alexander Marmor of Hamden has earned placement on the Dean's List for the spring semester of the 2012 academic year. To be eligible for this honor, a full-time student must achieve a grade point average of 3.4 or above; a part-time student must achieve a grade point average of 3.6 or above.

Hamden resident William Strauss has enrolled at James Madison University for the fall 2012 semester. Strauss plans on majoring in finance.

Anna Martucci of Hamden earned Dean's List honors at Saint Joseph's University for the Spring 2012 semester. Martucci is majoring in Sociology at the University. Students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or above, a B or greater in all their classes, and complete at least 15 credits to earn Dean's List status for a semester.

Robert Davis '12, of Hamden, CT, was among over 750 students from Union College who made the annual Dean's List. Davis, a Biology major, is a 2008 graduate of Hamden High School. To be named to the Dean's List, Union students must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the academic year and meet certain other requirements.

Theresa Altieri from Hamden graduated from Villanova University with a Master of Arts during a spring commencement ceremony held on Sunday, May 20, 2012.

Hamden residents Alexander Kim, a sophomore majoring in interactive media and game development, and Alexander Solomon, a freshman majoring in computer science, named to the university's Dean's List for academic excellence for the spring 2012 semester at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

The criteria for the WPI Dean's List differs from most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the Dean's List by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects.

Samantha R. Eaton of Hamden, has been named to second honors on the Clark University Dean's List. This selection marks outstanding academic achievement during the Spring 2012 semester. To be eligible for second honors, students must have a grade point average between 3.5 and 3.79, of a maximum of 4.3.

Michelle E. Collett, a resident of Hamden, has been named to first honors on the Clark University Dean's List. This selection marks outstanding academic achievement during the Spring 2012 semester. To be eligible for first honors, students must have a grade point average of 3.8 or higher, of a maximum of 4.3 (all A+s).

Villanova University named the following students from Hamden to the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester.

Oliver Ayer is pursuing a bachelor's degree in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences

Lauren Destito is studying Sociology in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences

Villanova University Dean's List recipients are honored by their college's respective dean. To qualify, one must be a matriculated full-time student and earn a semester grade point average of at least 3.5.The College of Nursing requires students to earn at least a 3.5 for the academic year.
