QU Students Shave Heads, Raise $38,000

Quinnipiac University students raise more than $38,000 to combat cancers affecting children.

Quinnipiac University student Kevin Carroll volunteered to have his head shaved March 6 during the university’s third annual St. Baldrick's Day.

The event, which took place at Burt Kahn Court on the Mount Carmel Campus, raised more than $38,000.

At the event, members of the campus community had their heads shaved to demonstrate their support of children with cancer. All proceeds from St. Baldrick’s Day benefit the St. Baldrick's Foundation, a volunteer-driven charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.
