Quinnipiac's WQAQ to Host Battle of the Bands March 3
Student-run station event choses opening band for Quinnipiac's annual Spring Concert.
WQAQ, Quinnipiac University’s student-run radio station, will host its annual Battle of the Bands on Saturday, March 3. The event is free and begins at 6 p.m. in Burt Kahn Court at Quinnipiac University.
The show features an eclectic mix of student musicians and bands of unique styles and genres. Five judges viewing the show will determine the top three winning bands based on aspects of the performance and audience reaction. All judges have a background in music and will remain anonymous until the event.
The winner of the event will be the opening band for 98.1 WQAQ’s Annual Spring Concert on April 20. At the Battle of the Bands, WQAQ will also be giving away a pair of tickets to an upcoming Say Anything/Kevin Devine concert.
WQAQ is a student-run radio station in Hamden that has operated since 1979. It broadcasts a wide range of radio shows and can be heard on 98.1 FM and WQAQ.com.
