Quinnipiac Students Teach Kids Safety
Three QU students visit Helen Street School recently to discuss pedestrian safety.
Shannon Payne and two other Quinnipiac students, Tom Hacku and Sarah Phenix, visited Helen Street School on Feb. 15 to discuss pedestrian safety with fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders.
Their presentation was part of a grant from Safe Kids USA, a nationwide network of organizations working to prevent unintentional childhood injury, the leading cause of death and disability for children ages 1-14.

The occupational therapy department at Quinnipiac and the New Haven Health Department lead Safe Kids Greater New Haven, a local chapter of the national organization that strives to educate young people about the best ways to prevent unintentional injuries.
