The Sacred Heart Academy legacy continues with the freshman Class of 2016, which has 27 members with one or more sisters who are current students or alumnae, for 33 sisters in all.
In addition, 14 members of the class have mothers who are alumnae and three have grandmothers who are alumnae.
The new freshman class is 133 young women strong, coming from 31 different Connecticut towns and 51 different schools.
The most popular names in the class are Emily, Elizabeth/Elisabeth, Kathleen, and Meghan/Megan.
“We are particularly struck with the numberof alumnae who are sending their daughters to Sacred Heart," said Elaine Lamboley, Director of Admissions. "The presence of these young women at the Academy is a testament to the importance that families place on values learned here and their desire to ensure that the Sacred Heart tradition of excellence continues.”
The Class of 2016 will be officially inducted into the Sacred Heart community at Freshman Commissioning on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. when freshman parents will attend the commissioning service and reception with their daughters.
