Spring Brings Academic Honors for Hamden Residents

-- The following Hamden residents have been named to University of Rhode Island's Spring 2012 Dean's List:

-- The spring semester Dean's List at Bryant University includes the following Hamden residents:

 

-- Heather DelCervo and Max Moran, students at Hamden High School, were awarded the 2012 Saint Michael's College Book Award for Academic Achievement with a Social Conscience. The award recognizes students who demonstrate a commitment to leadership in volunteer service and academic achievement.

 

-- Stephanie Schultz of Hamden, was awarded a Master of Science degree in civil engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI).

 

-- Hamden residents William R. Garcia, a graduating senior majoring in Finance, and Matthew B. McLaughlin, a sophomore majoring in Mechanical Engineering, were named to Dean's List at Western New England for the spring semester of 2012. Students are named to the Dean's List for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.30 or higher.

 

-- Hamden residents  Frank G. Maturo, a junior majoring in Communication - Media Theory & Production and Timothy M. O'Connor, a graduating senior majoring in Criminal Justice, were named to the President's List at Western New England for the spring semester of 2012. Students are named to the President's List for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.80 or higher.

 

--  Stonehill College recently named Hamden resident David M. Mazzariello, a member of the class of 2013, to its Dean's List for the Spring 2012 semester. To qualify for the Dean's List at Stonehill, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better and must have completed successfully all courses for which they were registered.

 

-- The following Hamden residents were named  to the Dean's List for the semester at Eastern Connecticut State University:

 

-- Kari L. Weston of Hamden received a master of science in rehabilitation counseling from the University of Scranton's Jesuit university's College of Graduate and Continuing Education.

 

--  Daniel Bennick of Hamden, graduated May, 13, 2012, from Ohio Wesleyan University. Bennick earned a Bachelor of Arts degree.

 

-- The following Hamden residents graduated from Marist College the weekend of May 18:

 

-- The following Hamden residents made the spring 2012 Dean's List at Sacred Heart University:

 

-- Marissa Hutton of Hamden has been named to Beloit College's Dean's List for the spring semester. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must carry a semester GPA of 3.4 or higher and take a minimum of 3 letter-graded units for the term.

 

-- Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, held its 207th Commencement exercises Saturday, May 26, 2012. Craig Comen, of Hamden, graduated cum laude, majoring in Chemistryand Music and Caleb Pershan, of Hamden, graduated majoring in English and minoring in Gay and Lesbian Studies.

 

--  At the University of Rhode Island's 126th Commencement on May 19-20, 2012, almost 3,000 undergraduate and 738 graduate students became the University's newest alumni, including the following Hamden residents:

  • Amy H. Levinsonreceived a BS degree in Textiles, Fashion Merchandising and Design.

 

-- Aaron J. Cubells of Hamden, a senior majoring in engineering and management, was named a Presidential Scholar for the spring 2012 semester at Clarkson University. Presidential Scholars must achieve a minimum 3.80 grade-point average and carry at least 14 credit hours.

 

-- Daniel Bennick of Hamden, has been named to the 2012 spring semester Dean's List at Ohio Wesleyan University. To qualify for Dean's List recognition, Ohio Wesleyan students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale in all applicable classes.

 

-- The following Hamden residents were awarded bachelor of arts degrees from Connecticut College at the 94th commencement ceremony on May 20.
