Abeeda Mahwash of Hamden was recently inducted into the Gamma Rho chapter of Phi Sigma, Biological Sciences Academic Honor Society, during a recent campus ceremony at Quinnipiac University.
The chapter of the Phi Sigma promotes interest in research and fosters academic excellence in the biological sciences.

Craig Comen, of Hamden, a member of the Bowdoin College Class of 2012, has been awarded the Sue Winchell Burnett Music Prize. Comen, majoring in Chemistry and Music. Comen is a graduate of Hamden High School.
Caleb Pershan, of Hamden, a member of the Bowdoin College Class of 2012, has been awarded the Philip Henry Brown Prize (Second Prize). Pershan, majoring in English and minoring in Gay and Lesbian Studies, is a graduate of Hopkins Grammar School.
