A round up of student achievement over the past school year.

 

Chelsea Gelman, a junior early childhood/childhood education major from Hamden, was named to the Dean's List at State University New York Cortland for the Spring 2012 semester.

Honorees must earn a grade point average of 3.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale, while completing 12 or more credit hours of classes during the semester.

Elise Hebel from Hamden was named to the St. Olaf College Dean's list for the Spring 2012 semester. She is an English and Studio Art major and is the daughter of Howard Hebel and Janet Hebel.

The Dean's list recognizes students with a semester grade point average of 3.75 or higher on a 4-point scale.

Michael Taddei, a resident of Hamden, was named to the Spring Semester 2012 Dean's List at Merrimack College.

To be named to the Dean's List, a student must achieve a 3.25 grade point average or higher, based on a 4.0 grading system.

Michael is a Sophomore majoring in Criminology.

Cheshire Academy in Cheshire announced its Honor Roll for the Fourth Quarter of the 2011-2012 academic school year.

Students have earned First Honors with a GPA of 3.67 and above. Second Honors students have a GPA of 3.33 and above.

Hue-Pho Van, Grade Nine, of Hamden received First honors.

Mia Hudd, Grade Ten, of Hamden received Second honors.

Thuyen-Hanh Van, Grade Eleven, of Hamden received First honors.

Tiara Tompkins, Grade Twelve, of Hamden received First honors.

The following Hamden residents have been named to the Dean's List at Providence College for the Spring 2012 semester:

Irma Babaic, a member of the class of 2015;

Lindsay Tyler, a member of the class of 2015.

To qualify for the Dean's List, students must achieve at least a 3.55 grade point average with a minimum of 12 credits.

The following area residents were among the 240 graduates who received diplomas at Choate Rosemary Hall's 122nd Commencement on June 3rd:

Benjamin Della Rocca of Hamden, son of Dr. Michael Angelo Della Rocca and Dr. Christine Elizabeth Hayes. Della Rocca graduated Cum Laude and was awarded the Choate Rosemary Hall Award for excellence in the study of philosophy and religion. He will attend Yale University in the fall.

Obaid Farooqui of Hamden, son of Mr. Kazi A. Ahmed and Ms. Nusrath Kousari. Farooqui graduated Cum Laude and will attend Tufts University in the fall.

Jeffrey Spivack of Hamden, son of Dr. and Mrs. George Spivack. Spivack will attend Syracuse University in the fall of 2013.

Lourdes Duluc and Beomju Lee, both of Hamden, have been named to the University of Delaware's Dean's List for Spring 2012.

To meet eligibility requirements for the Dean's List, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.33 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.

Yes, trust the state legislators, as we trusted the Social Security was supposed to be held In escrow, what happened? THEY STOLE THE MONEY AND USED IT FOR THEIR THINGS THEY THOUGHT WAS MORE BENEIFICIAL. So, let me get this straight- they take money out of the economy from us only to put it back into the economy because they know better how it should be used. Sure, that makes sense. They know better than YOU.
