Three SHA Student Tops in 2013 National French Exam

Three Sacred Heart Academy students have attained national and state recognition on the 2013 National French Exam.

Close to 96,000 students nationwide and 3,000 in Connecticut participate in the “Grand Concours.” Students who placed in the top 10, both nationally and in Connecticut, attended the Award Ceremony at Southington High School, on May 14 in the presence of representatives of the French Embassy, as well as representatives from the Connecticut chapter of the American Association of Teachers of French.

Caroline Kohnert
 ranked seventh in the nation and second in Connecticut (Level 4) and was awarded a silver medal. Helena Bui and Jacqueline O’Brien ranked 10th in the nation and 10th in Connecticut (Level 2); both were awarded a bronze medals.

“The French department is extremely proud of our students who have achieved a level of excellence in The French National Exam this year,” said Madame Levallois and Mademoiselle Bouteneff, French teachers at the Academy.
