Community Corner

A Clean Sweep

Members of the community came together Saturday to clean up parts of Hamden.

The Rotary Club of Hamden adopted Skiff Street in 1995 and has dedicated at least one morning each year since that time to clearing the area of litter.

This year, Saturday, April 6 was chosen for this year's effort.

The date corresponded with Quinnipiac University's Big Event, during which students volunteer their time around town to better the community.

Several other young people also offered to help.

So many hands made the job easier and more fun for all.

The workers are (back row) Al Gorman, Richard Miller, Jaslyn Scribner, Kristen D'Innocenzo, Scott Redmond, EJ Goding, Joena Russell, Fabi Giguere,  Woody Hoyt, (back row) Sean McCarron, Jennifer Paules, Lindzy Hamel, Shannon Fitzmaurice, Cliffy Schwartz, Jonathan Jenkins, JP Giguere.  Missing from the photo are Betsy Gorman and Tyler Jackson.
