Cashing in Coins for Change

Connex Credit Union supports Connecticut Arts for Learning.

The small change we collect can add up to make a big difference for organizations throughout the New Haven area.

As a part of its community giving program, Connex Credit Union recently donated $833.78 to Connecticut Arts for Learning. The donated funds were raised from the fees collected by Connex’s coin-cashing machine in Hamden.

Connex charges a five percent fee to members and a seven percent fee to non-members and donates the fees collected to caring organizations in the community.

“The arts are unfortunately are often targeted for budget cuts,” said Carl Casper, vice president of customer advocacy, Connex Credit Union. “Connex is very pleased to play a part by pitching in and helping to raise funds to ensure the arts continue to provide enjoyment and enrich our local communities.”

CT Arts for Learning is a non-profit that works to engage participants of all ages and abilities in learning creatively through the arts. Their work transforms the public’s understanding of the value of the arts as an active and natural part of everyone's life. For more information please visit www.yaconn.org.
