PHOTO GALLERY: Picking Purses for a Good Cause

The 5th Annual Pick-a-Purse at Atria Larson Place Thursday raised money for The Walk to End Alzheimer's Memory Walk, the largest fundraiser for Alzheimer's Disease that will be held Sept. 30 at Lighthouse Point in New Haven.

 

There were purses galore Thursday night at Atria Larson Place during the Fifth Annual Pick-a-Purse fundraiser to benefit the Walk to End Alzhimer's Memory Walk, the largerst fundraiser for Alzheimer's Disease that will be held Sept. 30 at Lighthouse Point in New Haven.

WFSB weatherman Scot Haney was on hand to auction off the handbags, as well as model them for the women who gathered around the local celebrity who attracted quite the crowd.

And he had an impressive variety of handbags to chose from: Coach, Dooney and Bourke and Fendi were some of the designer names up for auction and which sold at reasonable prices.

The women enjoyed pasta and wine while browsing the tables of bags to harp music in the background. In addition, many bags were purchased through a silent auction, and all of the proceeds went to benefit Alzheimer's Disease.
