Dunbar UCC Hosts Walk to Fight Hunger Sunday

Greater Hamden CROP Hunger Walk to help fight hunger to be held Sunday beginning at Brooksvale Park.

The Board of Missions and Concerns of Dunbar United Church of Christ invites everyone to "Come Walk With Us" at the Greater Hamden CROP Hunger Walk to help fight hunger.

Proceeds will benefit St. Ann's Soup Kitchen and the Hamden Food Bank, as well as feeding people world wide through Church World Service.

The event will take place on Sunday, April 29th from noon to 3 p.m. Starting at Brooksvale Park, participants can walk any distance they choose along the Farmington Canal Trail beginning and ending at the park.

Registration begins at noon. Brooksvale Park is located at 524 Brooksvale Ave. in northern Hamden. There will be live music and refreshments at the park, and the event will take place rain or shine.

Walkers participating in the event can collect pledges, or donations can be made the day of the event at the park or at any time online by choosing Hamden CROP Hunger Walk at www.crophungerwalk.org.

Donations made during March and April will be augmented with additional funds pledged by the Feinstein Foundation of Cranston, Rhode Island, which has been donating to fight hunger for more than a decade.

For more information, contact Debbie Laffin at (203) 281-3241 or visit www.crophungerwalk.org. To learn more about Dunbar United Church of Christ, visit dunbarchurch.com.

while receiving Staples Rewards does help defray the cost of supplies for the teachers, they areRead More STILL putting cash out of their own pockets! This should not be. But Kudos to the teachers who put their students above their own financial situation. The Town and parents should be footing the costs, not the teachers.
