This Week in Hamden: Dr. King Celebration, Tree Cutting, Business Incubator

Busy week for Hamden government, plus several other issues on tap.




Monday, Jan. 13:

The Hamden Heronettes invite young swimmers to start the New Year with a new sport! A new clinic is beginning today from 5:45-6:45 p.m. for swimmers aged 6 and up.

The Commission on Disability Rights & Opportunities will meet at Regular 7 p.m. in the Friends Room at the Miller Library Complex.

The Dunbar Hill Civic Association meets tonight at 7:15 p.m. This month's guest speaker is Jim Cole who is the Director of Transmission, Distribution, Operations and Maintenance for United Illuminating.

Tuesday, Jan. 14:

The Economic Development Commission meets at 5:30 p.m. in the third floor conference room at Hamden Government Center.

The Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a Public Hearing and Regular Meeting at 7 p.m. in the Thornton Wilder Hall, Miller Memorial Library Complex, 2901 Dixwell Ave.

The Library Board meets at 7 p.m. in the Miller Library's Director's Office.

The Board of Education meets at 7 p.m. in the auditorium at Hamden Middle School. 

Wednesday, Jan. 15

The town will hold its annual Martin Luther King, Jr.Day celebration today at noon in the Thornton Wilder Hall, Miller Library Complex. 

The Human Services Commission meets at 7 p.m. at the Hamden Government Center.

The Historic Properties Commission meets at 7 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Parks and Recreation Dept., Hamden Government Center.

There will be a public meeting to discuss the Hamden Business Incubator at 6 p.m. in the Margaret L. Keefe first floor lounge. 

Thursday, Jan. 16

The Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a Public Hearing and Regular Meeting at 7 p.m. in the 3rd Floor Conference Room, Hamden Government Center, 2750 Dixwell Ave.
