Located in Hamden, Whitney Center is a not-for-profit nationally accredited continuing care retirement community. The center incorporates independence, wellness and health care into the lives of the community and its residents. This 15 acre senior living complex is home to classes, lectures, performances, exhibitions, social gatherings and celebrations throughout the year. It is equipped with a dining room and a separate bistro, a game room with billiards, table tennis and board games and both a computer and art studio. The center is nationally accredited and fulfills housing, social, cultural, health care and security needs for residents. The grounds are covered with benches and sitting areas, gardens and bike paths as well as a full library that resides on the property. Whitney Center also has a lounge area with a bar, TV and dance floor. The new Renaissance Expansion will add 88 new residential apartments in October and feature a new Cultural Arts Center, new dining venues and many other amenities. The Whitney Center is led by a local volunteer Board of Directors and by Greg Gravel, President and CEO.
