Keefe Community Center provides a…More number of services to town residents, including fuel and food assistance and welfare-to-work programs. </p> <p>The Hamden Youth Services Bureau operates out of the Keefe Center and "seeks to improve the quality of life for the children, youth and families of Hamden by providing a variety of programs and services."</p> <p>Youth Bureau programs include employment, child care, drug and alcohol abuse prevention, parent education, camp programs, youth theater camp, arts and culture events, and teen activities.</p> <p>The Department of Community Services offices also are located at the center. The department aides families during difficult economic times and other times of emergency. Areas of aid available include employment, food and fuel.</p> <p>The department also offers workplace training programs, artistic programming and scholarships for children to attend summer camps.</p>
