Hamden Radio Shack Robbed Tuesday Night

No weapons were used and no one was injured, but the two men made off with bags of electronic equipment, according to police.

Two men went into Radio Shack in the Hamden Mart Tuesday night around 9 p.m. -- closing time -- and robbed the store of electronic equipment, according to police.

The two men, described as dark-skinned males wearing black hooded sweatshirts, gloves and masks, came in the front door of the store and ordered a female clerk to lie on the floor, Hamden Police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith said.

They then ordered the male store manager to unlock a storage area, Smith said, where they filled the plastic bags with electronic equipment and took off through the store's rear door.

They two didn't display a weapon, Smith said, and no one was hurt. He did not have an estimate as to the value of the items that were stolen.
